| Gullnar is a lovely grey mare - a good mother - and a maternal half sister to our senior stallion DB Destiny Moniet. Her debut under saddle came when a housesitter mistook her for another, trained to ride, grey mare that we owned, and took her for a trail ride with a friend. This ride was along side a highway, down a canal bank, across a ditch (the dreaded water crossing) and through a weed field. She had never been saddled or bridled before in her life but decided to go along with it, as long as she could follow the horse in front of her. For her second ride we gave her steering lessons and away we went. Today she has many miles under saddle and has carried both novice and experience riders. She is very people oriented and likes the trail. She has also competed in 25 mile competitive rides and finished sound and in respectable times. |
