Not a horse, but certainly worth crowing over. On April 3, 2007 the next generation of my personal breeding program arrived.

Rylan Sean Lawrence arrived at 11:52 pm
(I got to witness the delivery!)

7 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches

Hi Sheila,

Due to a couple of very serious injuries, both to Tempo and myself, we had a rather "soft" 2006 ride year. However, Tempo did somehow manage to get a top 15 in the local Southwest Idaho Trail and Distance Riders awards. He is now at 2600 miles and I am hoping to reach his 3000 AERC endurance miles in 2007, God willin' and the creek don't rise.

DA Ali Bilash - Photo taken in May 2005

Karen Standefer recently purchased DA Ali Bilash. She came for her "test drive" when he only had 5 rides on him. We received these emails from Karen:

Well, Billy’s first ride was just awesome. We climbed from 1400 to 3300’ and he just wanted to keep on going. He never got winded and tried to trot up the steep parts (which I didn’t let him do for right now). He lead the whole ride and was just wanting to get around the next corner to see what else was out there. He’s a really nice little guy. I think he’s going to really take to this trail/endurance stuff. He sure had a good time today.

He also got his first bath. I started by spraying the floor around him and by the time I got the warm water on his body he was completely calm and quiet and seemed grateful for the warm bath. I’ve never had a youngster that was this calm and easy to deal with. He did give me a bit of trouble on the trail when I made him stay at a walk and also when I asked him to go one way or stop and he had other plans. But, nothing we couldn’t work through pretty easily.

I’m so very happy with him. We’re going to have so much fun growing together! Thank you so much!

Everyone loves him. The Brand Inspector came by today to get our permanent inspection. He was really impressed with him. He’s just so calm and quiet. He kept bumping his butt up to me for me to rub him. I think his muscles are a bit tight from our ride a couple days ago. He really likes the work. He doesn’t ever want to come back home and has argued with me on two occasions to go back out on the trails. He’s just wonderful!

Tempo did his first 100 this year, I could not have asked for a better ride. Tempo IS an endurance horse, and I am so very proud of him. He loves what he does, and makes me feel good about it.

Got the following letter(s) from Nalisa Bradley

Hello Sheila,

I hope this email finds you well. I just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know that the threesome (Sara, Alaina & Sonieta) is doing really well. We started Sara (DA Sara's Promise) under saddle a week ago. This last weekend was the deerhunt. I guess a week is all Sara needed, because she was one of the horses the kids chose to take hunting. She did an awesome job. She really is a fun little horse to ride. She moves out and is very willing.

Thanks again
Nalisa

We have Alaina (DA Alaina Moniet) going under saddle now also. She is doing just as well.

Best Wishes
Nalisa

From Yvonne Brandt:

Wanted to let you know Jack*  got his 1,000 miles this year. I would take another just like him if it was available. He is still a great guy.
