It's a BOY! -
the only one this year. On June 27, 2000 Chevence pulled another fast one when
she didn't wax, and delivered 3 weeks early. I swear she waits until I'm not
looking. I haven't helped her with a single foal yet! She let morning chores go
by then lay down in a nice sunny location to deliver. He is by Sonyet, a
chestnut with a star. Looks like he is going to be a very pretty boy, but very
different than his two sisters by DB Destiny Moniet.

The roof is on the barn now and sides are
still in progress. The mares seem to like their new domicile.

This charming young lady, Shanna, was the
first "foal" (our first "filly"!) produced by Bob & Sheila Harmon way back in 1981.
This year she celebrates her graduation from High School, a last summer of
freedom, then off to college this fall at the University of Idaho. Looks like
she is going to take the world by storm, doesn't it? She is going to kill me
when she finds out I did this! :-)

Through the extreme
generosity of my friend Jan Sorrell the mare Rafecta
RSI just
became a permanent part of the Destiny Arabians Sheykh Obeyd program. We are
looking forward to her producing some bay and chestnut foals with her dynamite
trot!

Jan Sorrell of Silver
Moments Arabians & Sheila Harmon of Destiny Arabians worked together last
year along with Bob & Barb Johnson of Trebor Arabians to produce a special
limited edition foal, born on May 3rd. She is by DB Destiny Moniet and out of
Mesa Moon TA (Oracle RSI X Rabanna Moon). We are trying to double the Sir White
Moon blood, and we only had 3 breeding horses to start with. The only stallion
was DB Destiny Moniet and the mares were Rabanna Moon and Kumoniet RSI. DB
Destiny Moniet is currently keeping company with Rabanna Moon, and her daughter
Mesa did her part by producing this lovely filly. At 24 hours old she is watched
over by a careful mother and excited "grandmother Jan". Other sources
of this blood can be found here through the Kumence
RSI (Monietor-RSI X
Kumoniet RSI) mareline.

Barn building is
progressing, and the roof is on and felted. Just waiting for the tin roofing to
arrive. With the arrival of some really lousy weather we jury rigged walls to
let horses in under the roof. We are building a barn specifically for the mare
and foal pen so they don't have to be cooped up in stalls, but still have
shelter from inclement weather. The foals have been enjoying the chance to
stretch their legs, running circles around all the mares.

I must have done
something very good last year - on May 9th we were blessed with our 6th filly in
a row - DA Moniets Lark. Sired by Sonyet and out of GL
Alna LHF, she is a bright bay with great bone, a wedge-shaped little head
and another very sweet foal. She is Sheykh Obeyd & Al Khamsa.

May 7th 2000 found us
here at Destiny Arabians elbow deep in riders when we helped sponsor the
"Hoof It For A Cure!" trail ride to support the Juvenile Diabetes
Foundation. We had 138 riders and raised over $24,000 for the cause. Part of the
ride traveled through our property and people were given the opportunity to view
the new foals at play. The day started out a little rough, with rain falling and
dimming our hopes for participation. Then the clouds broke up and we had a
pleasant ride. We were pleased to have offspring by 3 of our stallions, DB
Destiny Moniet, Sonyet & Impressive
Destiny representing them on the trail. For one young mare, Tink,
it was her 4th
ride outside the round pen and she handled it like a trooper.

April 20 & 22,
2000 saw the arrival of two more beautiful young ladies. On April 20 Impressive
Destiny and Tahtoo produced a solid chestnut filly - a 370 day pregnancy.
(340 days is a normal gestation). Tall, great bone, wide between the eyes and a
dishy little face. She is very independent with a wonderful driving trot. Still
waiting for a name on this one. On April 22 Impressive Destiny and Bakit Miriya
decided that an Easter foal would be a perfect ending to the day. At 11:45 pm
"Bunny" (what else could you call an Easter baby??) made her debut,
barely under the deadline. She was greeted by several young men who were on hand
to see their first foal born. One young man said "Oh, cool - I'm going to
bed now!" while the other two stayed to watch the first fumbling attempts
at standing and nursing. Patrick, who was leaving for basic training the next
day, did the drying and imprinting. He did a great job, she is VERY friendly and
loves attention. Patrick went off to basic training with pictures of "his
little girl" in his wallet. Bunny is bay with a white star, very sweet,
great bone and loves to move. She is a full sister to Bakit Hanuun (Sprite) and
has the same lovely look to her.

Baby season is here.
2 beautiful fillies made back to back debuts. One on March 29th and one on the
30th. DA
Charlies Angel came first,
and she MAY be black. She is extremely affectionate and begs for attention. On
the 30th DA
Dream Dancer became
the 4th unicorn foal from Kumence RSI. Kumence has a single horned uterus (half
is missing) and every foal she delivers is a miracle.

Our first foal of
2000 is here! DA
Windy Valntyna made her
arrival on Valentine's Day, during 60 mph wind gusts! She is beautiful, and we
have 7 day old photos up on her page. Check her out!

We have a new visitor
here named Mah Rouff. He is an 8 year old Straight
Babson stallion owned by
Bruce & Diana Johnson. Sweet natured and willing, the first thing my
daughter did was start him with performance training. 3 days of work and she is
riding him bareback in the round pen - dispelling the myth of the "wild
Arabian Stallion"!
On July 29, 2000 we said good-bye to
Mah Rouff following a traumatic injury. His sweet & gentle nature will be
missed around here!

DA
Bakit Hanuun -
"Sprite" is the proud new people owner of Dianna Cotters. Dianna chose
Sprite as the replacement for her mare DA Meggans Magic who was lost
unexpectedly as a young mare. We wish these two many years of joy.

Well, she's at it
again. The mare DA Elusive Melody is
definitely a hard luck horse. In mid January she decided to start off the new
year by getting driven through a fence, cutting her throat with a 6" gash,
and cutting both hind legs to the bone. After 3 hours of suturing she is well on
her way to recovery. The vet was amazed at how tough she was, and kept
commenting on his surprise that she had done that much damage and NOT hit
anything vital.

We ended 1999 with a
whimper, and the loss of the mare Golan Safanad,
then followed a week later by the death of Raban
al Bahr. Circumstances are still being checked, but the loss was both
mystifying and tragic.
